Job Responsibilities

• Liaise with Executive Management to establish and agree on scientific and technologies policies.
• Plan, initiate, direct and execute the company’s scientific research & development programs.
• Develop and expand a research portfolio, defining the research strategy and priorities.
• Manage a global scientific team, consisting of career development for each of its members and monitoring
• Coordinate a constellation of programs and research projects to agreed timelines.
• Where needed, work closely with legal advisors on optimising the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Manage annual budgets.
• Represent and promote scientific interests of the company by establishing and nurturing links with
• professional and regulatory bodies as well as commercial organisations.
• Interact with corporate partners and evaluate business development opportunities.
• Evaluate in/out licensing opportunities and perform technical due diligence associated with acquisitions
• and co-development agreements.
• Represent the company on scientific and technical matters vis-à-vis medical and scientific investigators and
• the investment community.

Job Requirement

•  A minimum of 5 to 10 years of senior leadership experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical
• industry, which may include process, product or analytical development, nonclinical studies, GMP
• manufacturing.
• PhD qualifications in Pharmacy or related biomedical discipline
• Experience in regulatory submissions and clinical studies an advantage.
• Post-doctoral training in a medical or biomedical discipline highly regarded but not essential.
