The NSW Government is dedicated to making the NSW planning system less complex and more understandable for the population. The department has created the Community Guide to Planning, which provides clear, comprehensive, and simple instructions on who is responsible for planning, how it operates, and how the community may get involved.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead a team focussed on the design and implementation of the roll-out and ongoing delivery of the Sustainable Farming Program (or similar conservation programs), with a strong focus on project management, engagement, and timely delivery.
  • Lead the development of an accreditation program to train and accredit assessors to certify farms that meet the required standards of the sustainable farming program, including developing and operating an assurance program to maintain a high program standard and reputation.
  • Lead effective engagement with community, landholders, government agencies and relevant peak bodies to promote the program, build community knowledge and support, and maximise uptake
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure strong collaboration, engagement and/or co-delivery in pursuit of strategic and operational outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of performance targets through strategic and operational planning, team coordination and monitoring of productivity against agreed objectives.
  • Review and analyse program and project effectiveness, appropriate resource allocation and timely action
  • Prepare high level written reports, submissions, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence on a range of issues including contentious or politically sensitive issues often involving significant financial implications and government credibility.

Job Requirement

  • Demonstrated experience in leading effective engagement to ensure program design meets stakeholder needs and delivers positive environmental outcomes, taking into account multiple internal and external stakeholder varied interests, needs, goals and expectations.
  • Strong capability to lead the coordination and delivery of a state-wide roll-out, understanding multiple complex issues, and developing and recommending innovative solutions in a high-volume work environment with competing demands and tight deadlines, across multiple locations,
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in a senior program and/or project management role, leading the successful achievement of outcomes and delivery of quality outputs.
