Operations Manager Job at World’s Biggest Garage Sale
Job Responsibilities
A Business Operations Manager is a professional responsible for managing all business operations and setting goals across the organization. They ensure that all aspects, from hiring new employees and managing budgets to understanding general business operations or guiding work teams for projects, are running smoothly.
- You’ll be setting daily warehouse goals, including staffing and materials, and then tracking and measuring them to ensure jobs are completed on time and on budget.
- Each day you’ll be prepping for the next, ensuring that goods are ready on time and that the warehouse team is manned effectively to achieve our 30, 60 and 90 day plans.
- To do this well you’ll need excellent relationship-building skills, as you’ll be liaising and collaborating with our many stakeholders including wholesalers, vendors, corporates, government bodies plus our amazing team of full-timers, part-timers, casuals, interns and volunteers.
- You’ll also be responsible for other miscellaneous activities too, such as safety and training initiatives.
- Most of all you’ll be an inspiring leader.
- You’ll be responsible for actively walking the floor and encouraging and supporting the team on a daily basis as well as other activities such as monthly one-on-one conversations with your 8-10 direct reports.
- You’ll be performing other leadership functions too, such as managing the budget and tracking and reporting on progress to the management team.
Job Requirement
- Extensive experience and a track record of success as a leader of a fast paced operational/logistics enterprise,
- A tertiary degree in any field is desirable but not essential,
- Proven success leading and inspiring individuals and small teams to achieve effective business outcomes,
- Adaptive and diverse communication skills with a genuine interest in people and a proven ability to build relationships, negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels,
- Naturally transparent, respectful and concise communicator,
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of generating and delivering outcomes, on-time and on-budget,
- Experience in lean design practices an advantage,.
- This is high-paced role and will suit someone who is master the art of staying calm under pressure,
- A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and learning.
