MINE SAFETY & TRAINING COORDINATOR Job at Glencore
Job Responsibilities
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible to oversee all training and assessment activities for the mining department, initiate and drive continuous improvement around the departments training process’s and assist with incident investigations and hygiene monitoring for MMO and contract staff.
- Providing Operations Supervisors with accurate and timely assessments on each individual operators competency to safely operate equipment as required in the running of the operation;
- Assist the Team Lead with conducting a Training Gap Analysis for each crew
- Updating Training Modules, Standard Operating Procedures & Work Instructions;
- Prepare Safety Slides & Back to Site Presentations on a weekly basis
- Maintaining the Crew Training Matrix;
- Accurately populating and maintaining the department training database and documentation;
- Being a visible leader in safety; observing and coaching operators, identifying and rectifying hazards, auditing and enhancing procedures and instructions;
- Participate in departmental incident investigations; and
- Assist with Atmospheric Testing & Data entry.
Job Requirement
- Operational experience on open cut mining equipment;
- Strong communication skill, both oral and written;
- The ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications;
- Certificate IV (minimum) in Assessment and Workplace Training; and
- A current & valid HR-Class manual driver’s licence (essentia
