About Company

We were established in the suburbs of Melbourne in 1978 and were one of the city's first start-up technology businesses. Our first goal was to offer computer services to companies that required process automation. We eventually moved on to provide specialised computer bureau services to Australian share registrars, and we quickly became the best in this field. Utilizing our entrepreneurial spirit, we kept creating world-class technology that minimises risk, lowers costs, and streamlines procedures for our clients and their clients' clients.

In 1994, we maintained around 6 million shareholder accounts, had 50 employees, and had a market worth of AUD $36 million when we debuted on the Australian Securities Exchange.  We now operate on a global scale, have a market capitalization in the billions, and employ 14,000 people in all the major financial markets to manage over 75 million customer records.

Computershare is still an exceptional Australian success tale. Through the successful growth of our employee equity plans, stakeholder communications, corporate governance, fund services, class action administration, deposit protection, and most recently, mortgage servicing businesses, we expanded on our share registry business. We've grown locally and organically around the world over the years by purchasing other prosperous businesses.
