As part of the Workforce Australia programme of the Australian government, The Job Coach - EST will provide Employability Skills Training to job seekers. The purpose of this programme is to increase job seekers' employability and non-technical abilities in order to prepare them for a return to stable employment. The programme consists of a number of modules that will be offered to a variety of client groups, including young people, ex-offenders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of mature age, and people who are culturally and linguistically diverse.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage project Stakeholders effectively and regularly.
  • Prepare project documentation and facilitate approval and clearance of documents as required.
  • Prepare project briefs to facilitate project updates, and approvals as required.
  • Preparation of solicitation documents (i.e. Requests for Tender; Statements of Work) and Commonwealth approvals as required.
  • Prepare project risk management plans and maintain an active project risk register. Risk management is to be conducted using the Defence methodology.
  • Prepare project briefings and presentations as required.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, data and configuration information.
  • Arrange, coordinate and conduct IPT and ad hoc meetings as required.
  • Manage the project scope to remain aligned with the approved project business case.
  • Prepare project schedules and manage within tolerances as set by each project plan.
  • Manage and reporting of project budget to remain within tolerances as set by each project business case and or project plan.
  • Manage project transition activity including certification, verification and validation activity, handover to end users, and implementation of support mechanisms.
  • Manage project related equipment acquisition, including ordering, receipt and payment.
  • Generate Integrated Logistic Support Plans.
  • Generate project transition plans as required

Job Requirement

  • Experience working in a project management role, preferably within a Defence or government environment.
  • An ability to be flexible and work effectively within a small team environment.
  • Certified Practicing Project Manager (or equivalent designation)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Delivered projects within Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and/or Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
  • Exposure to projects that included requirements definition and the acquisition process, including the management of procurement and hand over processes.
