About Company

When representatives from the state associations of New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria created the Australasian Cricket Council in March 1892, it became the country's first national cricket organisation. Seven years after the Council's dissolution, in 1905, the Australian Board of Control for International Cricket was established. There were two representatives from each of Victoria and New South Wales present at the group's initial meeting. Later that year, a representative from Queensland attended its second conference; in 1906, its constitution was officially changed to permit one representative from Queensland and three representatives from each of New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The CA and its members, the six state and two territory organisations, are in charge of managing Australian Cricket.

CA is one of the 12 full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), the body that oversees cricket on a global scale. CA was a founding member of the ICC.

Job Responsibilities

This is a critical role within CA. The Head of National Development must ensure the sustainable development of High Performance players, coaches and staff in the context of a rapidly evolving global context. Key areas of focus will include:

• Overseeing the development and execution of the National Development (ND) and High Performance (HP) strategy for AC.
•  Ensuring the ND and HP pathways and programs integrate with and support Australian men’s and women’s teams as part of short- and long-term performance plans.
• Supporting effective Australia A and Australia Under 19 men’s and women’s programs including participation in ICC Under 19 World Cups and other international series.
• Ensuring effective CA and State/Territory Association HP player and coach development programs.

Job Requirement

• A degree in sports management, science, coaching or similar
• Deep knowledge of the Australian cricket landscape and network
• Experience in elite sport development and performance
• Success in developing and managing effective athlete identification, development and management programs
• Extensive project and program management skills including proven ability to oversee short- and long-term performance plans
• Demonstrated capability to develop strong relationships, influence and lead across diverse stakeholder groups
• High level initiative, problem-solving and decision-making skill
• Ability to problem solve and manage situations with confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement
• Experience in elite female sport and/or other successful initiatives achieving diversity and inclusion is highly desirable
