Job Responsibilities

  • develop, implement and maintain a range of entity-wide governance frameworks and strategies including planning, policy, performance reporting, risk management, business continuity, security and fraud control
  • research, interpret and apply policies and legislation; review and draft policy and procedural documentation; and coordinate organisational planning and performance reporting requirements
  • provide expert advice, knowledge and practical assistance on governance issues and undertake actions to educate and improve knowledge of staff
  • develop and manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and present the entity’s position on complex or sensitive issues to those stakeholders
  • perform the role and functions of Comcover liaison officer
  • supervise a small team and develop plans and objectives for short-term tasks and contribute to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.

Job Requirement

  • highly developed specialist and professional knowledge across a broad range of governance topics and activities, and be able to provide training and expert advice on those topics
  • knowledge of legislative frameworks, and an understanding of the requirements of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013
  • the ability to deal with, evaluate and communicate unfamiliar, complex and/or sensitive issues
  • highly developed communication skills, particularly written and oral
  • the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives
  • the ability to work effectively in and lead a small team, as well as lead collaboration across the entity
  • the ability to undertake objective and systematic analysis, draw accurate conclusions based on evidence, recognise the links between interconnected issues and explore possibilities and innovative alternatives
  • the ability to see projects through to completion and deliver continual improvement
