With operations across Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales, and Western Australia, we are one of the biggest community housing providers in Australia. We presently have assets close to $900 million, yearly income of over $70 million, more than 200 staff members spread across five states, and we own and/or manage more than 7,000 units that house more than 8500 tenants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspire, lead, manage, motivate and develop high performing and collaborative teams within
  • HCA and manage resources in accordance with our values and behaviours, budget, policies, and best practice.
  • Develop strong relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders to progress HCA strategic agenda, further strengthening our reputation and outcomes for residents.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and Executive Team on the People Strategy, with
  • the ability to integrate people, processes, systems and behaviour to achieve effective and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Design and build organisation capability, ensuring HCA has the right structure and capability to execute its mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead and manage organisational changes to ensure HCA has the right structure, talent and capability to execute its mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead the organisation to explore and define new ways of working and create opportunities to trial and build on different approaches.
  • Leading and proactively driving effective process changes and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to achieve organisational objectives using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Ensure effective reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement systems are in place to inform decisions regarding on-going and targeted investment in people initiatives.
  • Embed HR systems, process and practice aligned to HCA values that promote empowerment and ownership, are effective, flexible, contemporary and fit for purpose.

Job Requirement

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, strategy, management, HR, community housing,property development or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of People & Culture functions
  • Capacity to support change and innovation and deliver creative and leading practice solutions
  • Sound knowledge and skills in business and/or service development
  • Proven experience and successful track record at senior leadership level in a comparable role or discipline(s) in the public/community, private housing sector or transferable sector
  • Experience, or ability to acquire skills quickly, in preparing and executing strategy and negotiating contracts, and/or funding agreements
  • Extensive experience in preparing comprehensive management, business and regulatory
  • required reports.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, mentor and manage teams,
  • Adaptable and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and lead others through the process of change
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong decision-making ability
  • Well-developed presentation skills, including ability to work collaboratively and represent HCA in range of external forums and with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing stakeholder relationships including those with government, clients, and other relevant networks.
