Job Responsibilities
- Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Reconciliation Australia’s corporate functions.
- The COO will be the senior leader in Reconciliation Australia’s Canberra office and will be responsible for the management of a small corporate services team made up of IT, Finance and Human Resources.
- The COO will lead Reconciliation Australia to build internal capability and capacity in alignment with their organisational strategic goals as well as sourcing new program initiatives and opportunities for Reconciliation Australia.
- In close collaboration with the CEO and Senior Executive Team, this role will contribute to the strategic direction of Reconciliation Australia.

Job Requirement
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a leadership structure, including setting strategic directions, performance standards for the organisation and building organisational capability to achieve organisational goals
- Proven ability to lead and develop a skilled team, including active coaching, building team capability, and setting performance standards
- Highest level of cultural competency, including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people as well as a thorough understanding and awareness of the issues affecting First Nations people
