Job Responsibilities

You’ll have a unique opportunity to help support our organisational data decision making journey. As part of a dynamic and high performing team, you’ll use your diverse skills in client management systems and data analysis to reshape how we collect, analyse, and learn from data and evidence. You’ll work across every business and service delivery team for Australian Services and report to our Business and Programs Data Manager. Based in any capital city of Australia, you’ll have flexibility to work from home or from one of our state offices.

• Facilitating transformational change in our data management and reporting practices
• Ensuring our data approach delivers a continuous improvement loop and enables us to demonstrate our impact for children
• Designing and improving processes and documentation to build the quality of our data across Australian Services and problem solving issues as they arise
• Properly establishing project data feeds via an API from our Case Management database
• Designing reporting methods, including dashboards, for Executive-level and project-level stakeholders
• Aligning our data with other external sources to develop benchmarks & baselines

Job Requirement

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a proven ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to work across a large and diverse portfolio of projects, with complex interdependencies and critical delivery time frames
• Experience in the design and operation of databases that translate data to external donor systems and requirements, including documentation and data element mapping across systems
• High level technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts and technical specification writing/documentation skills
• Strong ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business needs and develop appropriate technical solutions through working with stakeholders to understand data requirements, business processes and data flows
• A degree in Computer Science or similar field and/or extensive relevant experience
• Previous experience working with systems that report through to the Department of Social Services Data Exchange is highly desirable.
