In 1961, Gerry Harvey and Ian Norman established their first store, which was focused on selling electrical products and appliances. When both of them were door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman, Harvey and Norman first met. Due to the store's success, Harvey and Norman decided to grow the company and speak with merchant Keith Lord about expanding his own retail group. Harvey and Lord were reluctant to adopt each other's names, therefore they could not agree on a name for the new company. They ultimately opted to keep the names of Peter Ross, the original store manager, and Norman. As a result, Norman Ross, a shop chain, was born.

With 42 outlets under its ownership and more than $240 million in sales by 1979, Norman Ross grew to become one of the biggest appliance retail chains. An acquisition battle between Alan Bond and Grace Bros in the early 1980s led to Grace Bros incorporating the chain in 1982. But three weeks later, Alan Bond persuaded Michael Grace, the director of Grace Bros., to sell the business to Bond. Harvey and Norman received their notice and six-month pay packages shortly after. Although Harvey later told The Daily Telegraph that he had wished Alan Bond would pack up his marbles and return to Perth, the reasons for their dismissal were not made public. Job Responsibilities 

The Harvey Norman Warragul Warehouse Team is seeking a passionate, customer service focused Warehouse Assistant to join them in delivering Great Service, Always! to their customers.

• As a Warehouse Assistant, you have a good understanding of the dispatching and receiving of orders, and liaising with customers providing exceptional customer service.

Job Requirement

• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
• To be highly organised and possess great time management skills
• Must be motivated and have a great eye for detail
• Experience checking delivery sheets
• Effective, timely and accurate distribution of goods in and out of our warehouse, including loading of trucks
• A strong commitment to WH&S policies and procedures
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn with a “can do” attitude
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Flexibility across retail trading hours including weekends, public holidays and late night trades
• Current Drivers Licence
