IP Australia is hiring a Human Resources Director in August 2022.

IP Australia is in charge of managing Australia's system of intellectual property rights, specifically patents, trade names, designs, and rights of plant breeders. Job Responsibilities

  • have demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive stakeholder partnerships across the private and public sector, cultivating partnerships with colleagues, managers, senior executives and other key people in IP Australia as well as those in other relevant agencies to execute outcomes
  • have exceptional strategic thinking, conceptual reasoning and analytical skills
  • be regarded as an innovative problem solver and demonstrated evidence of working smarter with limited resource allocation
  • be able to effectively prioritise tasks and design an effective work program to meet the needs of the Executive
  • consistently bringing staff along, achieving high quality results across multiple HR projects

Job Requirement

  • Demonstrate strategic HR experience, combined with effective operational HR program delivery resulting in successful talent outcomes for the organisation
  • Apply innovative thinking and entrepreneurialism to the skills agenda to meet the growing technology skills crisis
  • Apply contemporary knowledge of issues, trends and best practice to develop and implement innovative candidate attraction and sourcing strategies that reach beyond traditional advertising and search methods
  • Develop and implement talent pipelines, including but not limited to, entry level and STEM employment programs
  • Design and deliver talent acquisition strategies and operational HR solutions to improve IP Australia’s profile in the labour market
  • Develop a short and long-term strategy in collaboration with industry and education stakeholders
  • Establish a micro-credential framework, informed by industry, that defines in-demand skills
  • Examine how we work with industry on demand forecasting to understand what technical skills are required for the near future and modify the type of training as appropriate
  • Explore an approach to skills vs role-based recruitment, identifying a common skills standard adopted by employers applicable across the entire career and education spectrum
  • Design a new career pathway model that transverses the school leaver to late career employee
  • Focus on marketing a digital career to school leavers and how we can partner with industry and across government more broadly to build an effective solution
  • Relevant HR qualifications (or equivalent) and professional memberships; significant and relevant executive level leadership experience
  • Strong subject matter expertise across multiple HR disciplines (specifically people strategy, workforce capability, targeted entry level programs and talent management programs)
