The Texas Company Australasia Limited was founded in New South Wales in 1918 as a result of the company's expansion. Ampol AU is hiring a driver in July 2022.
In addition to refining, importing, and marketing fuels and lubricants, we also supply the largest brand-named gasoline and convenience network in the nation. In different industries across the Australian economy, including the defence, mining, transportation, maritime, agricultural, aviation, and other commercial sectors, Ampol serves about 80,000 clients with gasoline. We provide fuel and convenience products to almost three million customers each week across our retail network.
Our strong supply chain and strategic infrastructure positions across the nation, which include 16 terminals, 6 major pipelines, 55 wet depots, roughly 1,900 branded sites (including roughly 690 company-operated retail sites), and one refinery in Lytton, Queensland, support our ability to serve our wide customer base. More than 8,300 people from Australia and abroad support this network.
Job Responsibilities
As a Tanker Driver (operating articulated vehicles), you will deliver petroleum products in an extremely safe, environmentally sound and cost-efficient manner, whilst providing customers with great local customer service.
- This is a permanent full-time position with competitive pay rates under the relevant Enterprise Agreement.
- You will typically work on a rotating roster which includes 6 x dayshift and 5 x nightshift for e.g Monday to Saturday (dayshift) and Monday to Friday (nightshift). Based at our Gladstone Depot, you will operate modern and well-maintained vehicles alongside a crew of other experienced drivers.
- You are reliable, enthusiastic and highly motivated; looking to move into or expand your career opportunities within this sector.
- A current Heavy Combination licence
- A current Safe Load Program (SLP) and/or Dangerous Goods license is desirable (not essential)
- Having flexibility to work both dayshift and nightshift and occasional overtime or extra shifts as required
- Ampol will train and develop the successful candidate, as long as you have a fantastic, can do attitude
- Fuel experience is a desirable
