Mr. J.H. Peters constructed Valetta in the early 1910s based on a design by renowned local architect Harry Marks.

Kitchen/Dishwasher Position at Cafe Valetta, Australia

Mr. Charles Skinner of Tweed Heads bought the house in 1913 because it was popular at the time to have a vacation home to escape the heat and humidity of the coast.

Pioneers of the Tweed Valley, Mr. Skinner and his brother founded a soft drink and cordial industry in Murwillumbah.

Newspaper advertisements boasted of Valetta's vicinity to Queens Park and the Showgrounds, and this practise apparently began in the 1920s.

Charles Skinner gave the house to his daughter Enid after his death in 1935, and she lived there until Ron and Merle Douglas bought it in 1972 to operate as an antiques gallery for the following 30 years.

After undergoing extensive renovations, Café Valetta reopened in 2004 and is now proudly run by the Douglas family.

One of Toowoomba's well-known historical landmarks is Cafe Valetta.

Seating is available inside the cafe's lovely historic settings as well as outside in the well-kept gardens, on the veranda or pergola facing Queens Park, and other outside areas.

The relaxed dining atmosphere is well-liked by locals, business clients, and visitors alike. We are here to meet all of your dining needs, serving breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and dinner every Friday and Saturday night.

Job Responsibilities 

• Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary
• Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware promptly and store them in the appropriate places
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises
• Assist chefs and waitstaff as required, especially during peak hours

Job Requirement
