About Company

Since Varsity originally opened its doors in 2013, the company has undergone significant growth. In Nedlands' early years, beer pong and university students predominated over burgers and sports. However, when word of the excellent burgers spread around Perth, there was a cultural change in favour of the traditional sports bar in the American manner that served as the model for Varsity. Our goal when we opened up our first location in Nedlands in 2013 was to establish the ideal bar and hangout for university students in the United States. And indeed, it was! So much so that not even a hamburger could be found. We have greatly evolved since then (and six venues later), and we'll keep doing it. For everyone, it's all about the experience and having really fantastic moments. We are proud WA natives and are staunch localists.

Job Responsibilities

If you are an ambitious, self-motivated and dedicated team player that performs under pressure then this job is for you. Varsity continues to build a great people culture, and we love hiring reliable & positive people who genuinely love what they do.

  • The ability to prepare delicious food for our customers.
  • Weigh, measure, mix, and prep ingredients according to recipes.
  • Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, vegetables, and various other ingredients.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Ensure that the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and well maintained.
  • The ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

    Job Requirement

    • Culinary certificate or foreign equivalency preferred, but not required.
    • Prior experience in related foodservice and food preparation positions.
    • Worked in a fast-paced environment.
    • Prior knowledge of American style cooking an advantage.
