The NSW Local Government Act outlines the duties of council members and gives councils, council members, and people direction on what is required of councillors. The major responsibilities of a council member include participating in high-level decision-making, establishing the council's strategic direction, and representing the council's constituents.
Job Responsibilities
- In your role you will contribute to important community outcomes and making a real impact for Singleton.
- The natural diversity of your role means that every day will be different. Your role will include primary responsibility for the cleaning and maintenance of the town’s central business district.
- This unique role is supported by and provides support to the broader Parks and Recreation team although you have the autonomy to work independently to make this area your pride and joy for the benefit of the local business owners and our community.
Job Requirement
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining a small plant and equipment for cleaning, landscaping and street sweeping tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to stakeholder needs.
- Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills including sound conflict resolution skills, negotiation skills and dealing with challenging customers skills.
- WHS Construction Induction (White Card).
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain accurate written and computerised records, undertake calculations and complete forms
